Travel Planning

In order to enter Costa Rica travelers need to:

1. Show proof of vaccination or carry valid travel insurance if not vaccinated.

2. Complete the digital form called HEALTH PASS available at salud.go.cr

Health Pass need to be completed within 48 hours prior to arrival in the country.

Tourists who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and individuals aged 18 and younger (even if unvaccinated) can enter the country without a travel policy. The last dose of the vaccine must have been applied at least 14 days prior to arrival in Costa Rica.

Vaccinated tourists must attach their vaccination certificate to the Health Pass.

As proof, vaccination certificates and vaccination cards that contain at least the following information will be accepted:

Name of the individual who received the vaccine

Date of each dose

Pharmaceutical site

In the case of U.S. travelers, the "COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card" will be accepted.

Travel Insurance

Unvaccinated tourists can select any international insurance company that meets the following requirements:

1. Valid during the entire stay in Costa Rica (coverage dates)

2. $50,000 for medical expenses, including COVID-19 infection

3. $2,000 for lodging expenses in the event of COVID-19 quarantine

This certificate must specify that the policy covers COVID-19 and must be uploaded to the HEALTH PASS to be reviewed and approved by Costa Rican authorities.

IMPORTANT: Insurance cards are not accepted. The document must include the verification of the coverage mentioned.

Costa Rican Policies

Tourists can also select any of the following Costa Rican insurance companies, which sell products registered and authorized by the General Superintendency of Insurance of Costa Rica.

In order to ensure our guests meet all travel requirements for their return home, we are providing information about the available testing facilities in the local area.

Our team is able to connect you with a series of hospitals and laboratories that offer the required testing and we are happy to assist you in booking an appointment.

The Metropolitan Hospital is located 5 minutes driving time from the hotel where Covid-19 tests are available, and the results will be back within 24-48 hours. Reservations are required upon arrival.

In the Resort:

PCR Test: $150 USD + VAT

Antigen Test: $85 USD + VAT

In Cabo Metropolitan Hospital:

PCR Test: $113 USD + VAT

Antigen Test: $55 USD + VAT

It is required to make an appointment to request the test in advance, please follow these steps:

1. Go to mipruebacovid.com/hotel/

2. Select Book COVID test - you will select Book Now under The Westin Reserva Conchal and fill in the required information. (Please note that appointments are individual and you should schedule one per person.)

3. It is essential that you present the code generated when filling out the epidemiological form at the time of the test.

4. Payment for the test will be received only with a credit/debit card. The invoice will be sent later by mail.

5. The service hours for taking tests are from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm from Monday to Sunday in the Hospitality Suite, next to the Westin Hotel shopping center.

We suggest that you plan to arrive in Costa Rica on December 8th and fly out on December 12th to fully experience what we have envisioned for the getaway.

We want you to treat this as a vacation, so other than attending the wedding ceremony and reception, you can decide how you'd like to spend your time in Costa Rica!

We do recommend that you extend your trip if you'd like because how often is it that you're in paradise?!

The closest airport to the resort is Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia (Airport Code: LIR). The drive time from LIR to the resort is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.

The other option is to fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alajuela, near the capital city, San Jose (Airport Code: SJO). The drive time from SJO to the resort is approximately 4 hours.

Important notes to consider regarding airport selection:
SJO is only recommended if you are extending your travel and will be visiting other destinations closer to San Jose.

Private Transportation is available any time, day or night, but if your arrival flight time is later at night or your departure flight time is early morning, we suggest spending the day/night prior, closer to SJO. Sometimes flights into SJO cost less than flying into LIR, but the savings are likely to be canceled out by the cost of staying overnight closer to the airport plus the extra time and cost of ground transportation from SJO, so be sure to take this into consideration when comparing flights.
