Brooke and Gericke first met in 2014. She had recently graduated from Arizona State University and was waitressing at a bar called Mad Dog Saloon. As fate would have it, Gericke made Mad Dog's his happy hour spot and quickly caught Brooke's eye. One movie date later and after being inseparable for two straight weeks, they found themselves on a road trip to the US Surf Open in Huntington Beach.

Early on, Brooke and Gericke knew they had found something special in each other and because Brooke never seemed to leave Gericke and Damon's apartment, they thought it might be a good idea to officially move in together. They got the keys to their new place in December of 2014, six months into dating.

Both animal lovers, Brooke and Gericke didn't feel at home without a dog around. They chose the sweetest Standard Poodle to add to the family and got to take her home at 7 weeks old in May of 2015. They named her Olive.

Having Olive around gave the them major puppy fever. Three weeks later they went to pick up another Standard Poodle and named him Opie.

The two continued to grow together through a handful of birthdays and major life events, all the while, their love continued to deepen for each other.

Excited to build a home together, the couple purchased their first house in March of 2019.

One weekend in July of 2019, Gericke secretly requested work off for Brooke and planned a getaway in Sedona for their 5 year anniversary.

While at the resort spa, Brooke thought they both were getting massages but Gericke had snuck away to set up a romantic surprise proposal down by Serenity Point on Oak Creek!
